Hi there
those of you coming over for the yearly pilgrimage to the WEF: Qatar will start using the B787 on three of their weekly flights starting January 14th...
On the sad side: I don't know if the News got as far as Portugal but our beloved "Heligrill" (the spottingplace where the RWY's 28 and 16 cross) will be history from spring 2014 on. The airport needs the land there for a new ramp. However, the airport will be providing an alternative spot... The red circle shows the current position of the Heligrill, the green circle will be the new spot. Generally, people here think that this new spot will be far worse than the old one, I however think we shall wait and see how it looks....
Enough blablabla, here are a few pics from January 2nd, 2013
this will not be possible anymore in 2014:

With the GlobEx's, it is always a bit of a challenge to get the registration into the picture... The wing is just toooo long, wide... whatever;-)
